Brussels and Dopenhagen

We left Venice early in the morning and arrived in Brussels to welcome a 7 hour layover. We stored our luggage and set out for the city on the bus (because the train was double the price)! I was told by a friend that with only 7 hours in Brussels, everything you can do involves food and drink. I was not going to argue. And so the journey takes place in 4 parts:

Waffles- Belgian waffles are world renowned. After finding a corner shop near a beautiful church, we continued to eat the most delicious waffles in my entire life.

Beer- Delirium is a bar that hold the world record for most beers on tap. They had 2004 beers that were available on tap, and even more bottled. So at 10am Emily and I went in for a few beers! It turns out that Emily is not the biggest fan of beer... oh well, the rest of the trip was a success.

Chocolate- Belgian chocolate. We stopped by a store and picked our own chocolates from an assortment! We asked the lady working for her own favorites because the all looked so great, as well as a few other choices!

Fries- Apparently the fries in belgium are famous. So we just went for it! The fries came in a huge cone with custom sauces on the side. I hadn't had fries in a long time over the semester so it was a nice reminder of home.

Also, Brussels was pretty.

We left Brussels and went to Copenhagen. Emily and I toured around the city and I showed her all of my favorite spots and cafes around the city. One night she even came out to see my host family for dinner. She won the girls over with presents and even let them win at 'Uno.' It was a lovely night and the next day she would head back home to the United States.
