A Day in Sweden/Super Bowl Fiasco

On Sunday I went with Lizzy to Helsingborg, Sweden (Not to be confused with Helsingør, Denmark right across the bay). The city was practically empty because it was a Sunday, but the sights were just as magnificent. In the background you can see the town hall (called the Red House in Swedish) and a wonderful view of the city. I cost about $5 round trip to get a ferry from Denmark to Sweden, and it was a beautiful day for walking along the main boulevard. We hiked up to the top of the bastion to see the entire city, and it was a shame that the tower at the top of the city was closed! Maybe we will go back in the spring when it reopens.

Sunday was also Super Bowl Sunday. What a mess. Ian and I went into the city late to catch the game with friends [00:30]. Maybe half an hour into the game we started to head home [01:00]. We got to the train station and looked at the weekend schedule, it looks like we'd have to wait half an hour for a train... Eventually, a kind woman stopped by the station and asked us why we were sitting there, "the trains have stopped running for tonight" [01:36]. Damn. Well, we called home and managed to call the two phones in the house that were away from Julian and Camilla. We looked up the bus schedule and found that there was one leaving nearby in about 40 minutes... We are waiting at what we believe to be the bus stop [02:15] and we saw our bus drive by. So we sprinted to catch up to it, and thankfull the driver saw us and decided to show mercy. After transferring buses and waiting to get to our home station, we finally arrived at our bikes [03:30]. The seven minute drive would have been easy, if Ian's chain did not slip halfway through... After pretending to know what I was doing, I got the chain back on the bike and we arrived home [04:05}. There were five minutes left in the game, which of course takes 45 minutes in american football. I stayed up, and it was worth watching! But class in the morning was definitely a struggle...
